Uh… I want this dress. And I can’t buy it because I am “saving”. This makes me sad.

It is tailored in Italian cotton, and I want it. Recently tweaked to have a side pocket and stripy ribbon at the waist part.

You can buy it and rub it in my face here.

Bad Romance

When I first saw Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’ music video I was pretty intrigued by it. I mean, the outfits are pretty extreme but it’s also packed with symbolism. Check it out:

Apparently, it reflects the dark and ritualistic inner-workings of the entertainment industry, by symbolically depicting Gaga as a sex slave.

I found this article really interesting and goes on to talk about torture techniques, mind controlled slaves, Baphomet, (the horned idol of Western occultism), and Anti-Christian Symbolism used in the video.

Its a good read for a Monday morning that’s for sure!

“Margy Cato, Test Shoot, O,” taken in the 1950s by Lillian Bassman, is featured in the exhibition “Lillian Bassman: Women,” opening October 10 at the Peter Fetterman Gallery in Santa Monica. The 93-year-old Bassman was named Art Director at Junior Bazaar in 1945, and became Art Director of Harper’s Bazaar two years later. Her own fashion photography is renowned for its elegance, and she often experimented with darkroom manipulation. This fall Abrams will publish a new book of her fashion photos.

8-bit Trip is a stop-motion music video that pays tribute to that generation of videogames, using the building blocks. Created by two crazy Swedes requiring over 1500 hours of work, who knows how many LEGO and a chiptune soundtrack.

Smellivision

The SMELLIT concept is like a “smell printer,” emitting odours that coincide with what’s happening on your TV.

No, seriously.

As your DVD player reads the video and sound information from DVD, SMELLIT processes the same DVD, but the “smell card” decodes all the smell information from 10 to 20 seconds ahead of the actual scene so the odours have time to reach you. After decoding the smell information, the cartridge vaporizes a very small amount off concentrated “smell gel,” and the central fan equally distributes the smell in all directions. It can be loaded with 118 cartridges, each one with a different concentrated smell gel. All the cartridges can be easily changed and last 3 times more than a regular ink cartridge.

Have a look at the website for more info on Smellivision.
